Why our newest tools run in your browser
The four newest tools on this page use WebGPU and WebAssembly to run open-source AI models directly on your device. That’s not a gimmick — it changes what “free” means. Because we pay nothing per use, we don’t need signups, watermarks, upload caps or premium tiers to recover server costs. And because your images and text are processed locally, there’s nothing to leak, sell or train on. The first use of each tool downloads its model once; after that it’s cached by your browser and even works offline.
All tools are built on openly licensed models — MODNet (Apache-2.0), Microsoft Florence-2 (MIT) and open tokenizer vocabularies — via the Apache-licensed Transformers.js runtime. More tools are on the way: text-to-speech, transcription, and image conversion are next.
